  • Yield: 6-8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 package Crunchmaster® Multigrain Crackers
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups veggies, sliced (such as carrots, celery, cucumber, red peppers)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper, divided
  • 2 teaspoons ground turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, or until slightly softened. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 15 minutes.
  2. Stir in the turmeric and cook for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the onions are dark golden brown and fragrant. Let cool completely. Reserve 1 tablespoon of the onions and set aside.
  3. In a serving bowl, stir together the sour cream, caramelized onions, mustard, half of the chives, garlic, and the remaining salt and pepper. Top with the reserved onions and the remaining chives.
  4. Serve with crackers and sliced veggies.
