Creamy Avocado Hummus

This simple creamy dip is the perfect addition to any snack platter or charcuterie board. It’s easy to throw together and sure to satisfy your salty cravings. Pair this dip with Proud Sponsor Crunchmaster‘s Multi-Seed Original Crackers for that delicious crispy crunchy bite.

Creamy Avocado Hummus

Ingredients

  • 1 package (4 ounces) Crunchmaster® Multi-Seed Original Crackers
  • 1 can (14 ounces) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 ripe avocado halved, pitted and peeled
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons sesame paste
  • 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoons each salt and pepper
  • 4 teaspoons sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, mix together chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, sesame paste, cumin, salt and pepper until smooth. Add avocado; pulse until smooth (if too thick, add up to 2 tbsp water).
  2. Transfer to serving bowl. Sprinkle with cilantro and sesame seeds. Serve with crackers for dipping.
  3. Tips: Substitute lime juice for lemon juice. Spice up the hummus with a pinch of cayenne pepper or 1 finely chopped canned chipotle chili.
