Shelley Case, BSc RD
A registered dietitian, Shelley Case is a leading international expert on celiac disease and the gluten-free diet. She is a member of the Medical Advisory Boards of the Celiac Disease Foundation, Gluten Intolerance Group and Canadian Celiac Association, as well as the Scientific Advisory Board of the Grain Foods Foundation.
She is a frequent guest on television and radio; is often quoted in print and online media; and delivers numerous presentations at medical, dietetic, celiac and food industry conferences throughout the USA and Canada.
Shelley is the author of many articles on celiac disease and the gluten-free diet in leading publications such as Gastroenterology, Pediatrics, Digestive Disease and Sciences, Practical Gastroenterology and Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics. In addition, she has contributed in many other publications for health professionals, as well as textbooks, magazines and patient education resources.
Shelley writes “Ask the Celiac Expert” column for Allergic Living Magazine, the nutrition column for the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness and a column for Snack Food and Wholesale Bakery Magazine.
Her national best seller Gluten-Free Diet: A Comprehensive Resource Guide, is highly recommended by health professionals, celiac organizations, consumers, the food industry and media.
In recognition of Shelley’s major contributions to the field of celiac disease and dedication to educating health professionals and individuals with celiac disease in the US and Canada, she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Golden Jubilee Medal.
Professionally, Shelley is a member of the Dietitians of Canada, Saskatchewan Dietitians Association and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She lives in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada with her husband and daughter.
