Lasagna Style Pasta Bake

  • 8 Ounces Glutino Rotini Pasta
  • 1 Pound Italian Sausage sweet or spicy
  • 1 Small onion minced
  • 3 Cloves garlic minced
  • 1 Can Tomatoes crushed, 28 ounces
  • 2 Tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 Teaspoons Oregano fresh, minced
  • 1/4 Cup Basil fresh, chopped
  • 1 Pinch Red Pepper Flakes optional
  • 8 Ounces Ricotta Cheese
  • 2 Cups Mozzarella Cheese greated
  • 1/2 Cup Parmesan cheese shredded


  1. Cook rotini according to package directions.
  2. Rinse with cold water and set aside.
  3. Warm large skillet over medium-high heat; add sausage.
  4. Cook until well browned, using wooden spoon to occasionally break into small pieces.
  5. Reduce heat to medium; add onion and garlic; cook until translucent.
  6. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil and red pepper flakes.
  7. Bring to simmer and cook 10 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°.
  9. Spoon 1/4 of sauce into bottom of 9 x 13 lasagna pan.
  10. Cover with layer of rotini, using half the pasta.
  11. Spoon half the ricotta over rotini.
  12. Sprinkle with half the mozzarella.
  13. Cover with sauce, using half the remainder.
  14. Repeat the pasta, ricotta and mozzarella layers.
  15. Cover with remaining sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  16. Bake for 40-45 minutes until lightly browned on top.
  17. Let sit for 5 minutes before cutting into squares.
